In this update we are going to have a friendly chat with Hamid Beheshtian, Lead Animation Artist from Alzahra Studio.
How long have you worked with Alzahra?
Three years, in the beginning I started working as part-time animator, and then I became more invovled and now I am working full-time as an animation artist.
How did you get interested in the field of Animation?
I got interested in this field 15 years ago, and I have been working professionally in this field for about 8 years.
Tell us about some of the previous projects you have worked on?
I started my professional career by working on "Lamp 100" project, then I worked with Beatle Studio on a fantasy project called "Guardians of Istanbul" that was directed by Alireza Salehi. Then I worked on Moharam Project and Shaban project with Alzahra Studio, and the rest of the projects produced by Alzahra Studio followed.
What advice would you give to new artists?
First to enter this field you must have watched a lot of animations, and you should have the mindset of a warrior. Early when you start your career the amount of work is a lot and it may make you feel overwhelmed, you have to stay patient and after this hardship is over you will enjoy work a lot more.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I would like to watch series, also I enjoy playing football and swimming. Other than these I also like going to the movies and billiard and table tennis.
What was the most useful lesson you learned early in your career?
Having a good teacher can really help. Unfourtanely I only had a teacher for one month when I was starting out, and I learned everything by self-study. So I think having a good teacher can be pretty useful even if it's going to cost you.
What could the industry be doing better in your opinion?
In my opinion the animation industry should move closer to becoming an ecosystem, if the potentials in this field are discovered, this industry will massively benefit from it.
